Introduction to the Preparation of an Active European Citizen in the Light of Ministerial Curriculum Guidelines in Grades 1-3 of Primary School in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The author reflects on the propaedeutic preparation of Polish children for life in a pluralist European society of the 21st century. The article analyzes the document of the Polish Ministry of Education, the regulation setting out the goals and content of education in grades 1-3 of primary school and asks questions about civic education, European education, patriotism, shaping national identity in the light of European identity, and building the competences of the future.
