Summary/Abstract: Geopolitical speech in interwar Romania, maintained and promoted by geographers, sociologists or economists, had, besides many themes and subjects, an essental standpoint: it was focused on the Romanian national state, on its needs for defence and consolidation. For this staunch project the geopolitics and the geopoliticians of all kind were the best protectors. As the war was near, the geopolitical works and themes became more applied. Among these themes, published in important interwar reviews, we have selected a few. First of them refers to the belonging question of Romania either to Balkan space, or to Mitteleuropa region, following some authors such as N. Al. Radulescu or Mihai David. Second theme reflected the relation between demography and geopolitics, as understood by Sabin Manuila, while the third theme was about the geopolitical role of Carpathian mountains in our nation's development. In this last part some works of George Valsan, Ion Conea and Vintila Mihailescu were really helpful.
