Summary/Abstract: The Internet technologies introduced support for many changes in education – among them, Web-based communities that gather together teachers and students with similar objectives, irrespective of their geographical location. In this context, in engineering laboratories, an important concern is to perform experiments with a variety of equipment, apparatus, and measuring instruments. This determines potential common interests of the involved people, like: sharing suggestive descriptions of instruments, reusing them into practical lessons, and interchanging measured data conforming to a common format. The paper describes a Web-based application developed with these requirements in mind.
