Summary/Abstract: The article, through historico-anthropological and socio-anthropological perspective, deals with some current conditions in the Slovenian science (as an administratively homogenised and institutionalised field), deals also with some trends in the scientific policy and some concrete problems in their social status. It seems problems appearing recently in Slovenia are only exceptions proving the rule. Denominations and reflections of some shocking but concerning ideological myths, illusions, misunderstandings, delusions and anti-intellectual deformations are based on writing material and ethnographical experience. The author shows how scientific myths and misunderstandings strongly determine the social habitus of scientific administrators and state bureaucrats as well as the mental world of those who inhabit the domain of high education, science and academic culture.
