Summary/Abstract: The article analyses possibilities of recreation of the speech function during music therapy. The analysed case is a patient after brain damage and 4. his problems: inadequate emotions and impaired speech. Music therapy sessions’ content consisted of conversations, listening to the music, improvisation and singing of ethnic songs. Ethnic song, consisting of rhythmic cries, intonations of prayer and a set language, includes particular verbal information as well. That is why it should be applied while working with people suffering from memory and language disorders. The patient participated in 10 sessions of music therapy which were recorded by a camcorder. The sessions of music therapy were constructed paying attention to the course of the process and the patient’s individual experience. It was noticed that singing of ethnic songs that are close to the patient‘s nature, evoked his use of longer phrases and improvement of his mood.
