Summary/Abstract: Social welfare approaches based on human rights and social justice, which are derived from humanism-based discourses, had an important role in the emergence of human service professions, including social work. Social work would represent all activities that contribute to the accomplishment of a standard of living level at which disadvantaged individuals, families, groups, or communities can exercise their rights and satisfy their needs. While advocating for social welfare policies, social work practices grounded in human rights seek to strike a balance between individual and society demands. As a social institution charged with the responsibility of preserving social order, the law contributes to justice in society and also establishes the legal framework for social work practices. Social workers, whose authority is derived from the existing legal frameworks for their practices, are also included in the judicial system, which serves as a mechanism for social order through law. In this context, the field of forensic social work provides services to various client groups with a human-oriented and rights-based approach within the justice system. Through various practice components in the justice system, social workers in the field of forensic social work assist clients who are having difficulty in accessing their legal rights and resources. This study aimed to discuss the field of forensic social work and its application components, which are at the intersection of law and social work disciplines in the context of human rights, social justice, and social policy.
