Summary/Abstract: Dramaturgy is the visual description of the dramatic structure established in the written work by means of stage art. The exposition of the internal dynamics of the work in the visual decision structure of the theater also creates a semantic connection between the play and its audience. According to the way of staging, the meaning of the narrative changes. When dramaturgy is considered from the point of view of cinema as a visual art, it acquires a different dimension with the introduction of cinematographic elements. While the analysis of dramaturgy in cinema tends towards the deep-lying meaning contained in the narrative, it also leads to the need to read the director's style of visualizing the story and the indicators he uses. Based on this point, it is aimed to make a reading of 8½ film (1963) by director Federico Fellini. For this purpose, an analysis will be made on the social dimension and dramatic construction of the film based on the cinematographic and thematic structure.
