THE APPROACH TO ECONOMIC WORK OF IVAN MAKSIMOVIĆ

Summary/Abstract: The present review covers rich works of the member of the Academy and professor Ivan Maksimović effected in course of four decades and presented in some three hundred entries. At the very beginning it is stressed that method ofsystematization of rather complex and interdisciplinary opus of Ivan Maksimović is specific. In the first part exceptional contribution of Maksimović to political economy is the subject matter of elaboration. Particular attention is paid to specific structure of economic problems, as well as to categories and laws which have been introduced by him into political economy. The two-volume book „Political Economy" already classifies Maksimovié as a classic of contemporary economic thinking. Research inthe sphere of economic systems is the second part of Maksimović’s work. His contribution in this field is significant not only for the general theory of economic system, but also for the theory of contemporary types of systems, including the theory of individual systems. Third part is dedicated to the study of social ownership. Among numerous works in thih sphere, one should emphasize the book „Theoretical Foundations of Social Ownership". This way of fundamental approach to social ownership makes Ivan Maksimovié an originator of the school of social ownership. Fourth significant field of Maksimović’s studies relates to the methodology of economic sciences. The author has created the necessary basis for interdisciplinary study of economic phenomena.
