Locality, Local Identity and Cultural (Comparative Study of Mickiewicz and Miłosz)

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of locality taking into consideration the set of interrelates concepts such as local identity, cultural borderlands, local homeland. The theoretical analysis of locality is based on the comparative approach towards creative heritage of Adam Mickiewicz and Czesław Miłosz. Being born in the area of Lithuanian-Polish-Belarusian and Lithuanian-Polish borderlands they expressed their attitudes towards their local homeland in the explicit way, which helps for the better comprehending of the specificity of locality and local identity as cultural phenomena.
