Summary/Abstract: Being one of the largest countries in Asia, China has continually struggled, both internally and externally, to become an important player on the world stage. The ascension to power of the Chinese Communist Party in 1921 marked a turning point of the way China tried to assert itself. Despite numerous struggles, China has developed slowly, reaching a point, in the XXI century, when it has finally been able to impose its own agenda both regionally and globally.
