Summary/Abstract: Reviews, as critical perspectives on works that are submitted to publication and on published works, have a long tradition and are part of the inter‑subjective testing that is a hallmark of scientific inquiry. The reviews of published works are many times followed by answers from the authors, which shows, most of the times, the neverending nature of the inquiry process and its need for dialogue. This established process is an invitation to a further step: a dialogical format of reviews. It seems that this chance has been offered by Howard Gardner. The recent book A Synthesizing Mind. A Memoir from the Creator of Multiple Intelligences Theory by Howard E. Gardner (Cambridge, Massachusetts, MIT Press, 2020), in combination with the creativity and intellectual generosity of the book’s author and a set of circumstances, opened the possibility to engage in a dialogical review. This dialogical review has been carried out during a time that imposed many restrictions to normal relationships. I maintain the original format of my comments emailed to Howard Gardner, considering that the informal rhetoric is closer to the real communication process, as M. Billig argued in his landmark studies on rhetorical psychology.
