Summary/Abstract: In modern scientific discourse, the theoretical foundations of intertextual relations have developed allowing a differentiated approach to the diversity of phenomena of an intertextual nature. Сulture as a whole is seen as a text that breaks down into a hierarchy of “texts within texts” and forms their complex intersections. From this perspective, various forms and genres of intertextual connections, and in particular paratextuality, prone to figurative combinations and modifications, attract attention. Its forms are the title or subtitle, which acquire final completeness in echo with the content of the work. The modifications made possible by this format are relevant in covering the experience of literary poetics. Тhe work of Mileta Prodanovich, whose novels contain polyvalent poetics, stands out. Its signs can be traced in the work “Dinner at St. Apollonia”. Coverage of the formal and semantic aspects of his poetics, built by the modification of paratextuality, realized in its interaction with other manifestations of intertextuality, is the purpose of the article. The novelty lies in the precedent classification of combining of the paratextual title with other modes of intertextuality in the figurative material of the novel by M. Prodanovich. The research is based on the productivity of the method of structural and component analysis with the involvement of techniques of intertextual and structural-semantic reading of literary texts. As a result, it should be recognized that the paratextual dimension of M. Prodanovich’s novel contains a special modification: a symbiotic combination with the poetics of intertextual allusion. This complex appeals to the discourse of art and art history, allows to compensate in the paratextual affiliation of meanings semantic amplitude of the desire for postulates of Christian ethics, rooting ideologies of faith and humanistic values in the worldview. The meaning of the isolated semantic resource expresses a kind of “headline truth of existence”, which affirms the humanistic accents in the epistemological dimension of the poetic experience of the artist.
