Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to answer the question posed in the title, namely, whether there is a necessityto regulate social media’s functioning. If yes, then an analysis should be carried out with whatmethods (“hard” regulation or self-regulatory solutions) and on what level of law (national,regional, international) it should be done, according to the specificity and logic of the socialmedia functioning.
