Summary/Abstract: The author is a Ministry of Culture official with many years of service in the museum sphere. A number of questions are elucidated in the article concerning the setting up of new museums and the regulations dealing with their organization and activity. Stress is laid on the research work of the museum staff for the preservation and acquisition of museum exhibits, and their activity for arranging new displays in the old and the newly establishment museums.
