Dictionary of Sociology - Some Entries

Summary/Abstract: This is a compilation of short entries written for The Sociological Dictionary, a project of the Institute for Sociological Research of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, that has been ongoing for several years. In this way, one of the editors of the Dictionary is attempting in this way to encourage members of the profession to actively participate in this major undertaking. He does not pretend his entries to be the "final word" in the field. Like all specialized dictionaries and encyclopaedias, sociological dictionaries are more or less partial reconstructions of the conceptual apparatus of a discipline. The author is aware that his entries, like all eight hundred entries which had been gathered so far, are but so many fragments of a blurred vision. Nonetheless, the Institute's Sociological Dictionary could shed some light on different parts of the landscape which constitutes today's Sociology.
