Summary/Abstract: The word ‘qualia’ originates in Latin, is a plural, meaning the ‘qualities’ in the singular to mean a ‘certain type ‘or ‘a certain way‘. Although Michael Tye notes that it is pointless to ask whether or not qualia exist, I will do this and I will present some arguments pro-qualia. I begin this article with the arguments of Thomas Nagel and Frank Jackson, who actually forced the issue of qualia in debates in philosophy of mind and supporting its existence. Later I will present some critical positions about qualia, including that of Daniel Dennett. In the end of the article I will formulate my concept on qualia, I will illustrate this with an example and I will support the need for an integrated approach to this problem.
