European Union agricultural subsidies and state aid

Summary/Abstract: As an extremely important issue, subsidies in agriculture represent a challenge for both legal science and economics. The importance of this topic is also visible through the fact that there is a Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the European Union, on which all member states have agreed. By harmonizing its legislation with the law of the European Union, the Republic of Serbia strives to regulate the area of subsidies in agriculture, along with the provision of state aid and environmental protection, in the most uniform way. In this regard, Serbia has adopted the Law on Agriculture and Rural Development and the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development as a basis for the adoption of bylaws governing special incentives in agriculture and the conditions for their implementation.
