Summary/Abstract: The Polish term pedagogika przygody refers to the type of outdoor education, adventure education and the pedagogy of experiences. In the next stage of the development of informal education in Poland, the trend reaches increasingly wide and diverse audience, gradually finding its place within academic didactics as well. The rationale behind the topic was that joint pedagogical activities and scouting (which developed as a domestic scouting movement in Poland) were being undertaken, as well as the fact that both are common activities in the world. The scout movement is constantly developing and looking for new methods that can be successfully used in educational work. More and more scout organisations hold internal staff training that includes new techniques and methods of working with a group. One of such proposals is the outdoor and adventure education. The pilot article presents the results of research conducted by scoutmasters: among other elements – conscious and unconscious methods of adventure education in scout activities. The aim of the study was to compare the opinions of two groups of instructors regarding the possibility of using outdoor and adventure education in their work with scouts. The first group included instructors who had undergone training in outdoor or adventure education, the second group included instructors who had no experience in this field. A survey method was used in the research. Opinions of the interviewed instructors on implementing adventure education method into the scouting method vary, but point to a possibility of their co-existence without compromising the scouting activities. They also emphasise the importance and benefits of the conscious application of the principles of the outdoor and adventure methods in scouting activities.
