Summary/Abstract: During the field research in the villages of Felnak, Čanad and Кraljevac in July 2018, data about past and present ways of celebrating Christmas, Patron Saint Day and wedding among Serbs were collected. These traditional elements were chosen because of the identity function they have not only for the Serbs in the country of origin, but also for the Serbs in diaspora, and thus consequently for the Serbs in Romania, and they even today (self)define ever decreasing Serbian national minority in the multicultural surroundings. This paper reviews the forms of celebration of wedding, considered in the ethnological/anthropological science as one of the key events in each individual’s lifecycle, having a special significance considering the specificity of the social context in which it is observed. Due to the time limitation of the field research and the older age of the interviewees, the focus of the analytical process is traditional joining in marriage of the Serbs in Romania after World War II.
