Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the preliminary results of the fieldwork carried out by the research team of the Institute of Ethnography SASA during June 2018 in the Romanian part of the Pomorišje region (Felnac and Cenadul Unguresc) and the village of Cralovăţ (in Topolovăţu Mare). A series of guided semi-structured interviews were made with elder members of the Serbian minority communities with the purpose of getting the information about local customs related to the period from the beginning of the Nativity Fast until Epiphany and the customs related to weddings and slava (the celebration of the family patron saint). The paper is focused on slava customs in the recent past and in the present. The observations are based on five interviews made in Felnak, Cenadul Unguresc and Cralovăţ. The results show a relatively fast disappearing of slava customs and a high level of acculturation of the Serbian population in these areas. Some of the factors which influence that process are mentioned. The elements of the celebration of slava which are still present in practice or in the memory of the informants are commented from the ethnological perspective.
