Summary/Abstract: The comparison of two works of Croatian literature – Renaissance play Robinja by Hanibal Lucić and Milan Begović's Modern novel Giga Barićeva, which are both concerned with the faith of a woman, display many similarities. Both of them indeed belong in their own time, but the themes, characters and the structure point to Lucić's play as a source for Begović's novel.
