The Institute of History in the Jubilee 1997: Structure and Scientific Staff

Summary/Abstract: The article is a quantitative expression of the structure and cadre potential of the Institute of History in the jubilee 1997 year. The synchronous analysis, the tabulated and graphic presentation of the data show the cadres actually engaged in the seven sections in numbers, scientific degrees, post-graduate course and the index “average age”. In percentages they are: 76% doctors, 11% doctors of historical science, 13% university graduates working as researchers, with concrete figures concerning sex, age and place of birth. The conclusions direct the attention to the need for conditions for an earlier creative maturing of the cadres, looking for an optimum ratio of the scientific to the scientific-auxiliary staff, a wider expansion of the institutional scientific towards the interdisciplinary study of the past.
