THE EXPERIENCE OF WAR AND ITS REFLECTIONS IN THE PRESENT ITALIAN LITERATURE AND CINEMA

Summary/Abstract: The present paper describes the novel of the Italian writer Margaret Mazzantini, Venuto al Mondo, where a series of dramatic events of the Bosnian Serb war and the siege of Sarajevo are illustrated. The novel won the Campiello Prize for literature in 2009, and a year later the movie based on the story, directed by Sergio Castellito, was released.
