CONSIDERATIONS: Silone and Togliatti

Summary/Abstract: Following the publication of Ignazio Silone's contribution to "The God that Failed" a response Palmiro Togliatti, the leader of the Italian Communist Party couldn't fail to appear, since the latter had been compromised by Silone's notes on the history of the KOMINTERN both from a western point of view and in the eyes of the Soviet readers. DER MONAT published a German translation of Togliatti's response (originally published in the Italian newspaper "Unità" and Silone's comments, which had been published in the French edition of "The God that Failed" and in "Les Temps Modernes"
