Summary/Abstract: This study presents notes on Slavic 17th- and 18th-century printed books from the treasury of Putna Monastery. They were either written by or make reference to personalities from Moldavia and elsewhere, such as: princes (Nicolae and Constantin Mavrocordat), metropolitans (Dosoftei, Sava, Antonie, Jacob of Putna, Zacharias of Pereiaslav, Varlaam of Kyiv), hegumens or former hegumens of Putna (Atanasie, Macarie, Vartolomei Mazereanu, Pahomie), abbots (Lazăr, Dosoftei, Sila and Nathan of Sihăstria Putnei; Arsenie of Orășeni), clerics (among whom a dean), boyars (Tudose Dubău, Ștefan Sturdzea, Grigoraș Nestor Cantacuzino). The notes also mention the monasteries of Solca, Pecerska and Karakalou. All this information fills in some of the gaps in the history of Putna Monastery and its hermitage, Sihăstria Putnei, during the above-mentioned period.
