Summary/Abstract: In the context of Bucharest, an organism which develops continuously and is permanently subject to change, there is an evolution which enables places for gatherings and public manifestations to be searched and accepted with enthusiasm. The urban foyer is particularly that design which responds to the need for an urban space, a place to enter into society. Located as a continuity of the cultural space adjacent to the intersection between Arthur Verona Street and Jean Louis Calderon, the suggested public space is easily accessible and at the same time safe from car traffic. The suggested volumes offer functions which enable the user to follow a path that invites and captivates all age categories to recreation, communication and information. The architectural object is part of the public path and can act as such in different circumstances involving the user. The passersby can observe the scene, from different perspectives, can access the circulated terrace or can participate to the events taking place in the urban square, in front of the scene. The interior invites you to activities such as exhibitions, openings and workshops, by interacting with the surroundings through glass cassettes which look like a scene/create the image of a scene and offer an attractive image at night, when they are illuminated. The urban foyer is the place to enter into society, a launch pad for people with exceptional abilities. It is the place for future cultural activities which invite newcomers as well as “veterans” – committed participants to the urban life. The proposal thus allows us to be our own producers and actors in a scene at a greater scale, at the level of the city.
