Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of the Hellenistic period when Ancient Egypt was governed by the Ptolemaic Dynasty after the conquest of Alexander the Great the cults of several Egyptian Gods spread all over the Mediteranean world. It was mainly the cults of Isis and Sarapis but also Harpocrates, Anubis and several other deities. As a result of the Ptolemaic politics or of the Egyptian trade with Propontis and Pontus the cults of the Egyptian deities spread in Ancient Thrace as well. The aim of the paper is to show the mechanisms of diffusion of those cults bringing to light some new evidence and discussing the already existing one.
