Summary/Abstract: The dissolution of the Iron Guard party on December 9, 1933 represents a political issue of interwar Romania. This immediately resulted in the Prime Minister I. G. Duca being assassinated by the legionnaires on December 29, 1937, on the platform of the Sinaia railway station. We intend to highlight the role that Nicolae Titulescu played in accomplishing this political action. An opponent of legionarism, Titulescu forced I.G. Duca to dissolve the Iron Guard. It followed the apprehension of several Guard leaders. Referring to that moment, I. G. Duca declared that otherwise Titulescu had already threatened him with resignation and with damaging Romania's foreign relations at the time. Titulescu categorically rejected the accusation according to which he would have been the initiator of the Iron Guard dissolution. Nevertheless, we believe that the dissolution of the Iron Guard was carried out at the insistence of Titulescu, which destabilized the internal political situation in that period.
