In Azerbaijan, the pandemic began in February 2020 and a special quarantine regime was announced in March. Under the current conditions, the study of the significance and role of monetary policy, as well as determining the prospects for its development in the post-pandemic period as an integral part of the state's economic policy, is especially important. The subject of the study is monetary regulation of the economy and the financial system during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The purpose of the study is to compare the monetary policy pursued in developed economies and in Azerbaijan, as well as to develop a set of measures for the development of monetary policy in the post-pandemic period. The methods of regulating the economy through monetary policy in developed countries aimed at mitigating the impact of the pandemic on the real sector of the economy have been studied, and priority areas for the development of monetary policy in the post-pandemic period have been considered.
