Global Christian Forum in the Space of Unity of the Christ’s Church

Summary/Abstract: In the first part of the article author presents the profile of dr Konrad Raiser the originator and founder of the Global Christian Forum and General Secretary of the World Council of Churches (1993-2003) as well. In the second part of the work there are related circumstances and wide context in which the idea of the Forum came into existence. Author approximates the confessional pluralism of whole spectrum of contributors in this ecumenical initiative. There are also presented principles on which the Forum is based and main lines of its activity. The supplement consists in the analysis of the course and achievements of the global gatherings of GChF. The third part of the work shows the development and work of the Polish Christian Forum, which is a local ecumenical initiative on the patterned of the global Forum. In the summary reader can find a short comparative characterisation of the activities of the global platform and its Polish equivalent.
