Assessment of the Economic Profitability of SOFIX Index Companies

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to examine the role of some commonly used groups of financial ratios such as stability, liquidity and profitability in assessing the economic viability of SOFIX companies. The analysis was performed on 13 companies operating on the Bulgarian capital market for the period 2017-2020. The return on assets is presented as a dependent variable on the behavior of 11 separate financial ratios and with the help of regression and correlation analysis the explanatory power of the model is examined. The key financial indicators that investors and managers can use in planning their investment, assessing the effectiveness of the activity and the preparation of management decisions are presented.
