Summary/Abstract: Perhaps one of Virginia Woolf’s most thorough imaginative works, Orlando is the novel that comes closest to a fantastic historical biography that observes the life of the protagonist over a time span of 400 years. The novel can be analyzed both as a whole and as a conjunction of separate realities waiting to be discovered, depending on the perception of the reader and his understanding of the author’s objective. The present paper aims at discovering the different representations deriving from the text and investigating the multi-faceted personality of the main character.
