Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to study the particularities of computer-mediated communication in TikTok, making use of language samples of Hispanic and Romanian users. TikTok, one of the virtual platforms based on creation and dissemination of short videos, has become very popular since its launch date in 2017, especially among young people, encouraging them to acquire celebrity by means of creative posts. The modalities of expression adopted by them when creating their productions and the messages that accompany them have spread in such a way that TikTok has come to constitute a representation of reality as they perceive it and transmit it when making contact with the algorithm that manages the order of the publications. Therefore, each participant tries to create content that spreads very quickly on TikTok, using various strategies for this purpose, such as the combination of different styles, the use of certain hashtags and keywords, the dissemination of memes and certain sounds, all of these adjusted to create the desired effect. Users show creativity when making recordings and their content can focus on their daily lives, on presenting their talents, on sharing their knowledge or skills with other users, and almost always in a humorous tone and for the purpose of entertainment. In conclusion, our intention is to analyze this type of content and the communication strategies that Romanian and Hispanic Internet users adopt.
