Summary/Abstract: Bourgeois parties, especially the H.S.S. and the S.D.S. have tried to use municipal elections in Banovina in Croatia, which they held on the 19th. May 1940, to assure their power in village councils and in this way strengthen the Party’s position and respectively putting an end to the narrowing of political groundplans. Ultimately, the H. S. S. and S. D. S. are trying to assure the leading position in Banovina brought about by the Cvetković/Maček agreement.
