Summary/Abstract: With the outbreak of the First World War, Bulgaria's attitude to the conflict assumed great international importance. As in all the belligerent countries, the interest in Bulgarian foreign policy rose in France as well. For more than a year the authoritative newspaper “Temps” informed in detail the public of all the events of major significance taking place in Bulgaria, of the diplomatic: activity of the Great Powers in Sofia and the attitude of Bulgarian public opinion and the political parties to the war. Through its numerous commentaries, reports from its special correspondents and interviews with Bulgarian politicians, the daily acquainted its readers with the national aspiration of the Bulgarians and the objectives of the foreign policy of the State. In the publications devoted to the sharp territorial disputes between the Balkan countries found expression the distrust the paper had of the actions of the Bulgarian Government and which was the reason for the often tendentious presentation of the problems and the wide support given to the Greek and Serbian theses.
