Summary/Abstract: The article is a historical and philosophical study of the history of the Krakow intellectual milieu during the existence of the Republic of Krakow (1815–1846). It concerns the philosophy that was taught at the Chair of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University. First, the article presents a short history of philosophy at the University, focusing primarily why the Krakow university, where philosophy had been done for centuries and had many philosophical chairs, had only one in the 19th century. Then it shows the philosophical views of the professors who taught philosophy there (F. Jaroński, J.E. Jankowski, J.K. Rzesiński), assuming that their philosophical stance reflects the philosophy they were delivering to their students. So far, the Krakow philosophy of that period is little known, therefore this study aims to meet the need for research on this center and define further research perspectives in this field.
