Summary/Abstract: The scientific article defines the notions of ethics, law, legal ethics, and presents the division of ethics into different types. The concept of a code of professional ethics was also defined and the synergy of ethics and law was described. The types of legal ethics and the role of liberal professions, including legal professions, in society were analyzed. The ethical standards of public life are described, as well as general recommendations that are to be implemented in the entire public service. The issues related to the performance of legal professions, in particular the normative ethics of legal professions and a catalog of basic principles of legal ethics, are presented. The article also focuses on the status of legal ethics and its standards, which can be read as part of a wider dispute over the so-called the position of professional ethics in relation to general ethics.
