Summary/Abstract: The theory-based evaluation is one of the most used directions in evaluation, having the capacity to identify the program elements and their coherence. Beyond its variations, the applicability of theory-based evaluation renders it to remain attractive for specialists due to its approach perspectives and its solid conceptual construction; this direction is kept as a nucleus of program evaluation perspectives, incorporating new theoretical directions and experimental or quasi-experimental practices.
