Summary/Abstract: Structured in two parts, this research proposes to addressthe biblical theme of the payers with whom Yahweh struck Egypt,through Moses and Aaron, in a manner focused on the appearance ofthe two ancient cultures and religions that, as could see in this firstpart of the research, they experienced the event of those who leave:either with joy, Yahweh working on the side of the Jews and for theJews, or with terror, Yahweh working against the Egyptians whoheld them captive and oppressed the Jews. The research method isbased on both Christian and non-Christian sources, especially Jewishones. In this first part, we will illustrate how the ten plagues targetedthe Egyptian empire in at least three essential aspects of it: economy,magic and, last but not least, the person and authority of theEgyptian supreme leader, Pharaoh, over his subjects, both Egyptiansand Jews, both in terms of aspects of profane life and in terms ofaspects of religious life.
