FORMS OF THE VOCATION REHABILITATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, FINANCED BY PFRON RESOURCES, REALISED BY DISCTRICT SELF-GOVERNMENT IN 2010–2020

Summary/Abstract: Employment is very important for every human being, but especially for people with disabilities. Employment gives people with disabilities an opportunity to regain self-confidence and make them feel needed and appreciated. Despite the improvement on the Polish labor market, people with disabilities have difficulties with accessing it. Local authorities implemented several programmes addressed to people with disabilities and employers, financed by the National Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Fund to make employment more accessible. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of people with disabilities benefited from these programs in 2010–2020. Both central and local authorities should take more measures to increase the number of people with disabilities in the labour force. First of all, they should generate optimal regulations and transparent procedures to encourage them to enter the labour market.
