Summary/Abstract: Water transport, as one of the oldest transport systems, appeared and developed rapidly due to the advantages it has in relation to other transport categories (road, rail and air), namely low CO2 emissions, very high transport capacity high resulting in low costs. In general, the services of transporting people, shipping and transporting goods contain, on the one hand, their movement by water, and on the other hand, related services of handling, storage, issuance of documents and settlement of all services provided. In particular, they are services that have a unique character due to the fact that in Tulcea county there are areas where access can only be done by water, they are economical due to the low infrastructure costs and high transport capacities. At the territorial level of ITI Danube Delta, the activity of transport and leisure with boats is a developing branch, being stimulated by the development of other branches of the economy (tourism, leisure activities), the creation of new jobs and implicitly economic growth. In parallel with these, the activity of repairing and maintaining ships and boats will also develop, currently this activity is poorly represented. From this we can conclude that the ship and boat repair and maintenance sector is in close accordance with its growth and varies directly proportionally with the development of water transport capacities in Tulcea county and implicitly in the Danube Delta.
