A „CONSCRIERE” WITH OLD BOOKS SIGNED BY ŞTEFAN MOLDOVAN. UNIQUE DOCUMENT

Summary/Abstract: The study reveals the complex personality of Ştefan Moldovan – man of culture, born in Transylvania, who developed his activity in the 19th century, around Haţeg (Hunedoara county). This activity is known especially for the various documentary visits that has as a result the creation. Lists of the old books kept in the churches from Haţeg area. Therefore, at the state Archives in Deva is kept a unique document, a “Conscriere”, talking about the amount of written material (Romanian and foreign books), belonging the Library in Haţeg. The cultural activity of Ştefan Moldovan influenced positively an entire generation of cultivated men from Transilvania (the 2nd half of the 19th century), not to mention his important contribution to the history of culture.
