Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarians from Macedonia do not reconcile with the decisions of the Berlin Congress of 1878 according to which the Bulgarian lands are torn to pieces. Their dissatisfaction is expressed in continuous and mass revolutionary struggle. Its natural prolongation is their mass participation in the Bulgarian army in the years of the First World War 1915–1918. In this war the bands of the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization participate as a constituent part of the Bulgarian army. They form Partisan detachment in the 3-rd brigade of the 11-th infantry Macedonian division. Within the framework of this detachment the leaders (vojvodi) receive the status of Bulgarian warriors and enjoy their rights and obligations. The detachment is composed of partisan platoons and points for collecting information. The article describes the formation of the Partisan detachment and also its activity in the war against Serbia in 1915.
