Summary/Abstract: Based on the equilibrium theory of control of corruption, the research built a statistical model to show the relationship between natural resources dependent economies and control of corruption. The model has the feature of using a composite indicator of governance quality, enabling the creation of a composite analysis based on equilibrium theory to identify which governance components are more affected by natural resource rents dependency. Also, it allows identifying the governance components where resource-dependent countries have a window of opportunity to improve their governance quality.
