Summary/Abstract: Over the years, there have been some penetrating examinations of Peirce’s normative thought, but it was only with the new wave of interest in Peirce’s philosophy that began with the welcome decision of the U. S. National Endowment for the Humanities to fund long-term critical editions of some of America’s classic philosophers, including Peirce, that the question of Peirce’s theory of normativity began to emerge as a central focus of interest.
