Summary/Abstract: Last year were marked 650 years since the Maritsa Battle (1371-2021), which represents a significant historical event – whose consequences mark the future civilizational and cultural crossroad on the Balkans and beyond in Southeastern Europe. In historiography, little attention has been paid to this serious military victory of Turkey, which were the start of its global military conquests and centuries-long rule with the Balkan peoples. In our research, we specifically focus on the contemporary, for that period, literary-historical testimony of Isaija of Serres about the Battle of Maritsa in 1371, shedding light on the global processes that preceded and followed the military event. At the same time, a research portrayal of the literary figure of Isaija of Serres was created. We support the research article also with publishing source materials.
