Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the main publications of Bertrand Russell from 1905-1921 that inspired Leon Chwistek’s theory of the multiplicity of realities. It delineates the historical background of Chwistek’s account, emphasizing that the issues raised by Russell were just one of the many elements that influenced his theory of the multiplicity of realities, and compares the views of both philosophers.
