Summary/Abstract: Local manuscript traditions of Russian hagiography were formed in large Old Russian monasteries. Special attention should be paid to the sufficiently developed manuscript tradition of the Life of St. Stephen of Perm in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery, which has brought us evidence of the early stage of the formation of the saint’s cult and the reception of the work in Russian literature. Coming from the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery library the Thick Sobornik of the 1470s contains the earliest complete copy of the Epiphany’s Redaction of the Life, which retained the author’s title, was used for the Church readings in the monastery in the 16th century, was copied and served as a source of excerpts. The manuscript tradition of the Life in the Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery also includes two copies of the Creating Alphabets – an excerpt from the Epiphany’s Redaction of the Life included in the Golden Chain, which allow us to clarify the early stage of the manuscript tradition of one of the varieties of this encyclopedic collection. The first Prologue Redaction of the Life, written by Pachomius Logothetes, was also known in the monastery. Finally, the Pskov collection of the turn of the 15th–16th centuries, connected with the monastery in a certain way, includes a text entitled “The Sermon of the Holy Apostles, where and in which Language they taught”, which is a revision of the first chapter of the Epiphany’s Redaction of the Life.
