Summary/Abstract: Siegfried J. Schmidt (b. 1940), a German philosopher, media theorist, and experimental poet, is interviewed here by Michael Wögerbauer and Alice Jedličková. They discuss experimental poetry and Schmidt’s contacts with the Czech experimental poets Bohumila Grögerová (b. 1921), and Josef Hiršal (1920–2003), and the literary context of the 1960s, the relationship between experimental poetry and literary theory, what the World Wide Web means for the reception of texts, and the many changes that the Web has brought with regard to literature and its perception, the great turning-point in the media, and, last but not least, the untenability of the contemporary conception of teaching literature.
