ASSET BACKED EXCHANGE HOME EQUITY INDEX AS A LEADING FINANCIAL STIMULUS

Summary/Abstract: ABX. HE index has become one of the best indicators to estimate the recent subprime mortgage centered financial crises rised first in the USA and then, spread the global financial and economical system. Despite the ongoing crisis in mortgage credits, the mentioned index provides the ability for the inventors to make a profit by turning the future risk foreseable. ABX. HE index is a novel issue for Turkish finance literature and its implementation just began in its originated country, the USA, in 2006. Therefore, there is an urgent need for academic studies on this highly viable financial tool. The purposes of this study are first, to provide the detailed information about the calculation the index and interpretation of the results and second, to discuss the recent developments about the regarded index.
